Year of the Wooden Dragon

Creating a character for the Russian company FABERLIC — a manufacturer of cosmetics, clothing, accessories, footwear and other product categories.

Goal: a limited New Year’s collection for souvenir and cosmetic products.

Three types of the character’s image are presented. The hero can be considered either separately within a product line or in combination with one or several products, depending on the type of item.

Idea: a dragon, a mythical creature — the strongest and most powerful sign. The Year of the Wood Dragon: charismatic, curious, creative, and beloved by all. Cheerful and lively :)

This creature is highly noticeable, which is also emphasized by bright «lucky items» that attract good fortune: bracelets, pendants, earrings, wish ribbons, and candles.

This year's primary colors

«Ebony Tree»

Brown — the earth element, marking the start of a new cycle: brith, childhood, and swift growth. It embodies the spring Yang energy, which sparks the sap flow in trees and drives growth, flowering, and renewal.
«Pine forest»

Green — the forest, the element of the earth. It symbolizes life, flexibility, rebirth, prosperity, harmony with nature and renewal.
«Red Flame»

Red — the flame, the element of fire. It signifies luck, joy, prosperity, and well‑being. In mythology, it represents protection from evil spirits.
«Rose Gold»

Gold — a metal, the element of earth. It symbolizes fertility, nobility, and wealth.

Visualization on the product

In this case, the packaging approach relies on vibrant illustrations and a cheerful character. This design creates an atmosphere of playfulness and lightness, drawing attention to the product and emphasizing its premium quality through the use of foil printing.
